Xbox Canada Partners with the Toronto Blue Jays
I’m not really much of a sports person. I mean, I sort of like them, some more than others, but rarely am I ever seriously invested in them (which makes it all the worse when their programming preempts wrestling).
Still, I have some soft spots.
For one, a proper ballpark hot dog can be really damn good.
For another, I do have a soft spot for the Toronto Blue Jays. One of my earliest memories of visiting my then-future wife in Toronto was when her parents took us to check out a Toronto Blue Jays practice game. We didn’t stay the whole show, but I appreciated the atmosphere, and just the experience as a whole. It’s a fond memory, and so I have some fondness for the team by association as a result.
As a result, I was quite pleasantly surprised when this crossed my Twitter timeline:
What this means, precisely, is currently unclear. There hasn’t been any big press release or anything, and my attempt to find out more came back empty as of this writing. Could it have something to do with the recently-dropped MLB The Show 21, a former PlayStation-exclusive that is also available on Game Pass?
Maybe, as they did put together this video to help promote its release:
We wrote a song called “Time To Download The Ball Game” to announce the arrival of @MLBTheShow 21 on Xbox and @XboxGamePass ⚾?

And further, there was this showdown between Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen and pitcher Ryan Borucki as they played the title upon its release:
? OK (OK)
? Blue Jays (Blue Jays)
? Let's (Let's)
? Play (Play)

For all intents and purposes, that might seem like enough, but is it really enough to announce a partnership over? I don’t really know, myself.
As that original tweet states, there should be more baseball action from Xbox throughout the season; we’ll just have to wait and see what that entails.
Personally, I’m a little excited to see. Maybe if nothing else, they’ll do something so that fans can get their hands on one of those Xbox/Blue Jays jerseys.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I need to grill up some hot dogs for dinner.
Thanks for reading!
